Good morning, Cyprus! It’s a mostly sunny day ahead, but don’t let the clear skies fool you—there’s a fine layer of dust hanging around in the atmosphere. If you’re planning outdoor activities, keep that in mind and maybe reach for your mask if you’re sensitive to dust.
For most of the island, expect clear skies with some clouds popping up here and there. These clouds might get feisty enough to bring a quick shower, mainly over the mountains or southeastern areas. Winds will be coming from the southwest to northwest at a gentle 3-4 Beaufort, so nothing too dramatic. As for the sea, it’s calm to slightly rough—perfect if you’re dreaming of a winter walk by the water.
Temperatures today will reach a cozy 18°C inland, a balmy 20°C along the coast, and a chillier 11°C in the mountains. So, whether you're heading to the beach or the Troodos trails, dress accordingly!
Tonight’s outlook: The skies will stay mostly clear, with a few clouds lingering, especially near the coast. Late-night drivers and early risers, be cautious—there’s a chance of light fog or mist forming in the interior and eastern parts of the island. Winds will calm to around 3 Beaufort, and the sea will remain calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to 8°C inland, 11°C on the coast, and a frosty 4°C in the higher mountains, where you might wake up to a touch of frost.
Looking ahead to Friday and the weekend, we’re sticking with mostly clear skies and just a sprinkle of extra cloudiness now and then. Temperatures won’t budge much, staying slightly above average for January—so enjoy this milder winter weather while it lasts!
Stay warm, stay safe, and as always, keep an eye on that dust!
