Three of the five Greek Cypriots arrested in the north on July 19 have returned to the Republic-controlled areas and are now back home with their families after being acquitted last Friday by a “military court” in the occupied territories.
The three men traveled to Trikomo on Thursday afternoon to collect their IDs and personal belongings held by police there. One crossed back through a nearby checkpoint, while the other two returned via a crossing point in Nicosia.
Two others, a couple, remain in the north, where they still face two charges before the Trikomo “district court.” Their case is ongoing. Authorities on both sides have not shared additional details about the remaining proceedings.
