Cypriot drivers have seen plenty on the roads, but this one still raised eyebrows: a woman was filmed driving down the Limassol–Paphos highway with a laptop open in front of her while also holding her mobile phone.
The video, shot by a passing motorist near the Agios Athanasios area, shows the driver cruising along in traffic with a laptop propped up in front of her steering wheel. At the same time, she appears to be holding her phone in one hand, a multitasking combo that would make any driving instructor faint.
The clip has been circulating widely on social media, sparking equal parts disbelief and frustration. Viewers were quick to call out the obvious dangers, noting that even hands-free phone use can be risky, let alone juggling two devices at once.
Police have not commented on the incident, but the video is expected to prompt renewed calls for tougher enforcement on distracted driving, a problem that remains stubbornly common on Cyprus’ roads.
