If you were hoping for a tiny break from the intense heat, the atmosphere is holding its ground. Our trusty seasonal low pressure is still running the show, which means we are staring down another day of bright sunshine, high temperatures, and just a few afternoon clouds over the mountain peaks to break up the blue.
If your daily routine keeps you inland, prepare yourself for a temperature of a flat 40°C today. It is definitely the kind of day where you want to minimize your time walking across hot asphalt and maximize your time near an air conditioning vent. If you can sneak away to the coast, the southwest and west coastlines are offering the absolute best relief on the island at a highly manageable 32°C. The north coast will feel a bit toastier at 35°C, while the southern and eastern shorelines settle in at 34°C. Up in the higher mountains, Troodos is offering its usual cool escape at a comfortable 30°C.
Winds will start off easy from the southwest to northwest at a light to moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort. However, if you are down on the southern coast later today, expect the breeze to freshen up to a firm 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea is staying relatively calm, keeping to a gentle, slight chop that is perfect for an afternoon dip.
Once the sun sets, the heat will slowly radiate away, leaving us with a mostly clear and pleasant night.
A few coastal areas might experience some moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort breezes early in the evening, but everything will eventually settle down to a quiet 3 Beaufort. By the early hours of Friday morning, those in the eastern districts should keep an eye out for patches of low cloud and a light, lazy mist rolling across the landscape. The sea will follow suit, gradually smoothing out to a calm to slight state.

As we look toward the end of the workweek and the coming days, the weather pattern is introducing a tiny bit of variety.
Friday will start off mostly clear, though we will see periods of increased cloud cover building up primarily over the Troodos range. As we roll into Saturday and Sunday, that cloud cover is expected to get a bit more serious after midday. Anyone spending time up in the mountains over the weekend should keep an eye on the sky, as afternoon clouds are highly likely to produce isolated showers or even a quick summer thunderstorm.
The rest of the island will remain dry and sunny. Temperatures aren't expected to shift much at all through Sunday, meaning we are staying locked into these slightly above-average July numbers for the foreseeable future. Keep your water cold, stay in the shade where you can, and enjoy the rest of your Thursday.
