Newsroom
It’s Tuesday, which means the initial shock of Monday has worn off, and we are now fully settled into the rhythm of the week. Whether you are counting down the hours in an air-conditioned office, enjoying a sneaky midday frappe, or lucky enough to be on an actual mid-summer holiday, the weather is keeping things beautifully uncomplicated.
The seasonal low pressure is still keeping watch over the island, delivering a completely dry, mostly clear, and highly predictable summer day.
The temperature distribution today offers a little something for everyone, depending on how close you are to the water. Inland areas are climbing to a hot 39°C, exactly the kind of dry heat we expect this time of year, perfect for keeping the pool water warm but manageable enough that we aren't setting any records. If you are on the southwest or west coasts, you have hit the absolute sweet spot with a highly enviable 30°C. The rest of the coastal perimeter will stay very comfortable at 33°C, while anyone hiding out in the higher mountain peaks can enjoy a crisp and refreshing 29°C.
Wind and waves: Winds will start off light and variable at 3 to 4 Beaufort, mostly out of the southwest and northwest. However, if you are down along the southern coast this afternoon, keep a firm grip on your sun hats. The breeze is expected to stiffen to a firm 5 Beaufort later in the day. The sea will stay on its best behavior, remaining mostly calm to slightly rough.
Once the sun dips, the afternoon winds will pack up. The night is set to remain mostly clear and beautifully still, making it the perfect excuse to head out for an outdoor dinner.
Winds will transition into light, katabatic (downslope) breezes at a faint 3 Beaufort, helping to take the edge off the daytime heat. The sea will remain calm to slightly rough, maintaining a quiet, gentle lap along the shorelines.
If you like predictability, the rest of your workweek is looking incredibly stable. Wednesday will be another carbon copy of today, offering uninterrupted blue skies from morning to night. As we head into Thursday and Friday, you can expect some local cloud cover to drift in during the afternoon, but it won’t do anything to dent the sunshine. Temperatures are holding completely steady right through Friday, remaining just slightly above the seasonal average. Stay hydrated, keep the sunscreen close by, and enjoy the Tuesday slide.
