An Israeli tourist ended up in the Emergency Room in Paphos after he fell on rocks near a camping site on the beach at Baths of Aphrodite.

According to Cyprus News Agency, a 47-year-old visitor from Israel was standing on some rocks on the beach at Baths of Aphrodite, a remote area on the northwestern tip of the island, east side of the Akamas Peninsula.

At one point, the tourist lost his footing and fell about 10 metres into a ditch, where he was injured and trapped.

The man was then helped out and taken by a private inflatable boat some 100 metres in the water, where a coast guard vessel was waiting. He was taken to Latchi port and then transferred by ambulance to Polis Chrysochous hospital, where doctors said he had suffered multiple fractures.

Doctors treated the man for his injuries and he was then released, said to be out of danger. CNA said the tourist was on a visit to Cyprus with his family for a few days.
