After staring down 40°C start to the week, today offers a small step in the right direction. The seasonal low-pressure system is still hanging around the island, but temperatures are finally taking a gentle slide backward across all districts.
Skies remain mostly clear throughout the day, though the atmosphere won't feel quite as stifling as yesterday.
Here is how today's temperatures align:
Inland: Drops back under the big 40 mark to 39°C.
West & southwest coasts: The coolest spot to be at a pleasant 31°C.
Remaining coasts: Resting comfortably around 35°C.
Higher Troodos mountains: Sitting right at 30°C.
Mornings start light and variable before winds turn southwesterly to northwesterly at 3 to 4 Beaufort. Along the southwest and south coasts, expect localized afternoon gusts to strengthen up to 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea stays well-behaved, hovering between calm and slightly rough.
Tonight, conditions stay clear into the evening, though low cloud cover will build along coastal areas overnight. Towards the early morning hours, localized patches of mist or fog are expected to develop in eastern districts. Winds will ease into light downslope breezes at 3 Beaufort, with calm to slightly rough seas continuing overnight.
Midweek outlook
Wednesday & Thursday: Mostly clear conditions continue, but temperatures will continue to drop slightly day by day.
Friday: Temperatures hold steady at normal seasonal averages, though cloud buildup over the Troodos range could bring a few isolated afternoon showers to the peaks.
