In a significant development, police apprehended two individuals, aged 39 and 40, yesterday, as part of ongoing investigations into an attempted murder case in Famagusta province last November.

At approximately 10:40 pm, members of the YKAN intercepted a vehicle carrying the suspects. The 39-year-old, wanted under a court warrant, was taken into custody, while the 40-year-old faced arrest for complicity following the felony.

The former remains in custody to aid investigations, whereas the latter, charged in writing, was released pending a court appearance.

The attempted murder, reported to the police on November 27, allegedly occurred between November 21 and 22, 2023, near Ayia Napa Marina. Gunshots targeted a vehicle occupied by a 34-year-old and a 40-year-old during this incident.

Further bolstering the case, police investigations uncovered compelling evidence against the 39-year-old suspect. The Famagusta CID is actively leading the inquiry.

Stay tuned for more updates on this unfolding investigation.
