The new cases emerged after more than 1,800 samples were checked for coronavirus

Two new coronavirus cases emerged on Friday involving one person who was recently repatriated to Cyprus and another who took the initiative to get tested for the virus, a Health Ministry announcement confirmed.
The new cases raised total known cases in the Republic of Cyprus to 960. They emerged after 1,836 samples were checked for the virus.
On Friday, there were four coronavirus patients being treated at the Famagusta District Hospital, while three more were intubated at the Nicosia General Hospital ICU.
