Residents and motorists in Protaras were alarmed on the evening of Friday, 26 December 2025, after a horse was seen moving freely through local streets without supervision.
The animal’s presence prompted concern among drivers, with police receiving at least ten separate calls from members of the public who encountered the horse while traveling through the area.
Footage of the incident was later shared by RoadReport.CY, showing the horse wandering near the roadway. The video was reportedly filmed by a group of young women who happened to be inside a car at the time.
Authorities acted quickly to address the situation. According to RoadReport.CY, the horse’s owner was notified immediately and made his way to the location to locate and safely secure the animal, bringing the incident under control.
