Our story
Founded in 2023 by Costas Cleanthous, the Cleanthous Foundation traces its roots to Limassol, Cyprus, where Costas grew up. Co-founder of XM (2009), an international brokerage and investment firm based in Cyprus, Costas Cleanthous has expanded his business ventures into real estate, hospitality, and shipping. He resides in Greece with his wife Susanna and daughter Chrissi, actively investing in Cyprus to support economic development and local communities.
Personal initiatives focused on improving access to quality medical care for children and adults with serious health issues inspired the establishment of the Cleanthous Foundation. Supported by personal donations from Costas Cleanthous, the Foundation embodies his vision of fostering positive change in people's lives.

The meaning of our logo
Our logo symbolizes care, affection, and support. The Latin character 'C' is designed to resemble an open embrace, reflecting our commitment to supporting our community.
Founder's vision: A new pediatric oncology clinic in Cyprus
The Foundation aims to establish a state-of-the-art pediatric oncology clinic in Cyprus, comparable to leading European facilities. This clinic will provide top-tier healthcare and hospitality, setting a benchmark in Cypriot healthcare.
Currently in discussion with stakeholders, the Cleanthous Foundation is planning the clinic's implementation, ensuring the facility's maintenance and operational excellence through agreements with involved parties.
The new pediatric oncology unit will be located adjacent to Makarios Hospital, designed with environmental sustainability and patient well-being as priorities. Construction costs are entirely covered by Costas Cleanthous through a donation from the Cleanthous Foundation.
Ongoing discussions with health authorities and relevant ministries are progressing positively, ensuring alignment on project location, licensing, and post-delivery maintenance standards.
