Now, I know what y'all were thinking. You thought you were finally out of the woods, didn't you? Mother Nature pulled up in a weak low-pressure system, looked everybody right in the face, and said, "Not so fast!"
Today is starting off nice and clear, but do not let that fool you! Come afternoon, those clouds are gonna creep up like an unexpected bill in the mail. We are looking at isolated showers popping up, and there is a real chance of a full-on thunderstorm rolling through the mountains, the inland plains, and maybe even sneaking over into the southeast. On top of that, the wind is gonna pick up from the southwest to northwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort, hitting 5 Beaufort along windward beaches and making the western waters choppy as all get-out.
Here is how today's thermal situation breaks down across the island:
Inland plains, southern, and eastern coasts: Hitting around 31°C. It’s manageable, but you’re still gonna be wiping your brow!
Remaining coastal areas: Sitting at a comfortable 29°C.
Highest mountain peaks: Dropping down to a crisp 22°C, unless a thunderclap decides to shake your cabin!
Tonight, the sky decides to behave itself and clears right up. Winds will drift out of the northwest at a gentle 3 to 4 Beaufort, while the sea settles down to a light chop.
Friday (tomorrow) and the weekend: The bad weather packs its bags. Expect mainly clear skies right through Sunday, with just a few harmless clouds floating by every now and then to keep you company.
