Newsroom
Now, I know what y'all were thinking. You thought the heat was done with us, right? Well, Mother Nature just pulled up in a weak low-pressure system, looked everybody dead in the eye, and said, "Hold my drink!"
Today is starting off alright, but do not let it fool you! After midday, those clouds are gonna gather up like a crowd watching a street fight. We are talking isolated rain and pop-up thunderstorms coming through the mountains, the inland areas, and over in the east. On top of that, the wind is blowing southwest to northwest at 4 to 5 Beaufort. That's strong enough to blow your barbecue right into your neighbor's yard. And the sea is getting choppy as all get-out!
Here is how the temperature map is laying it down today:
Inland plains: Reaching 33°C. It's cooler than it was, but you're still gonna be sweating, don't play yourself!
All coastal areas: Sitting right around 31°C. Breeze is blowing, but it's still warm out there.
Highest mountain peaks: Dropping down to a cool 23°C. Beautiful weather up there, assuming you don't get hit by a lightning bolt!
Tonight, the sun goes down and things calm down just a little bit. You're gonna see low clouds creeping over the west and the north side of the island. Winds drop down to a westerly/northwesterly 3 to 4 Beaufort breeze, and the sea settles into a slightly rough mood.
The outlook
Thursday (tomorrow): Don't put that umbrella away just yet! Afternoon comes around and it's a rerun; clouds building up, bringing another round of isolated showers and thunderstorms to the mountains, inland, and the east.
Friday and Saturday: Friday clears right up and gives us plain clear skies. By Saturday, some high clouds start floating in, acting all mysterious.nThe mercury is gonna take a nice, slow step down over the next few days, bringing us right back to where we ought to be for this time of year.
Stay cool, stay dry, and watch out for those afternoon storms!
