A quiet evening turned violent for a 39-year-old woman in Engomi on Wednesday, when two unknown intruders forced their way into her apartment and attacked her at knifepoint.
The woman told police that at around 7:30 p.m., she heard a knock at her door. When she opened it, a man and a woman stormed inside, with the male suspect grabbing her by the neck while brandishing a knife. Both suspects beat her across multiple parts of her body while demanding money.
After handing over a sum of cash, the terrified victim watched the pair flee the apartment. She was rushed by ambulance to a hospital, where she remains under medical examination.
Police are now actively searching for the suspects and urge anyone with information to come forward.
