More drugs found inside her body after hospital X-ray.

Police seized more than half a kilo of cocaine at Larnaca airport on Monday, arresting a 23-year-old woman who allegedly tried to smuggle the drugs into Cyprus by hiding them on, and inside, her body.

The arrest came during a joint operation between the police and the customs department, targeting drug smuggling through Cypriot airports.

Acting on specific intelligence, officers stopped the woman after she arrived on a flight from abroad. A search revealed nine egg-shaped nylon packages hidden in her bra, weighing 88 grams, and another larger package weighing 452 grams concealed in her underwear.

The woman was arrested on the spot. She was later taken to a hospital, where an X-ray scan showed more packages inside her body. Doctors have since given her medication to help expel the drugs safely, and she remains under medical supervision and police guard.

Authorities say the total quantity of cocaine is expected to exceed half a kilo once all the packages are recovered.

The National Institute of Health continues to conduct medical and forensic examinations as investigations proceed.
