A 54-year-old woman was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon when her vehicle veered off the Nicosia–Kambos road and plunged into a ravine near the entrance of Kambos village, authorities said.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. under circumstances that remain under investigation, according to police. Preliminary reports suggest the woman lost control of the vehicle for reasons that have not yet been determined.
She sustained multiple injuries and was transported by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, where she remains hospitalized. Her condition is described as serious, officials said.
Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.
