Police and labor inspectors probe another serious construction fall.

A 21-year-old construction worker is fighting for his life after plunging from a rooftop Tuesday morning in Paphos, in what authorities say is the latest serious workplace accident under investigation.

Police said the man was working on top of a building when, for reasons still unclear, he fell roughly 11 meters to the ground. Emergency crews rushed him to Paphos General Hospital, where doctors determined he had suffered a severe head injury and listed his condition as critical.

Investigators from police and the Department of Labour Inspection visited the scene to examine what went wrong, focusing on whether safety measures were in place and properly followed.

Workplace falls remain one of the most dangerous risks in the construction sector, with even a split-second misstep capable of turning routine tasks into life-threatening incidents. Authorities have not yet said whether foul play, equipment failure or safety violations are suspected, stressing that the investigation is still in its early stages.
