Cyprus Labour Minister Zeta Emilianides was put in an induced coma following surgery she underwent in Athens. The Minister suffered a brain aneurysm on Sunday and was immediately transported to the Ygeia Medical Center in Athens.
She was immediately placed in the ICU and underwent surgery. A medical report says that the aneurysm was blocked via a specialized method and the Minister is now in an induced coma.
She is in critical condition and an assessment will follow in the next few days.

With regret, I am obliged to inform you that the Minister of Labor and Social Insurance, Mrs. Zeta Emilianidou, suffered a brain aneurysm last night.
She was initially admitted to a private hospital in Nicosia, but due to the seriousness of her condition, she was transferred to a hospital in Athens where she is currently undergoing surgery.
The President of the Republic was informed immediately about the state of her health and sent his warmest wishes for a speedy recovery.
After this unpleasant development, today's press conference on "Welfare State - Society without Exclusions" in which Mrs. Emilianidou would have participated, as well as tomorrow's scheduled events in the Province of Larnaca have been postponed.
President Anastasiades: "I'm sure she will persevere"
In a post on Twitter, the President addressed the Minister saying, "To the Minister of Labor, to my dear Zeta, who is currently undergoing surgery, I wish you a speedy recovery."
