Famagusta’s bold tourism campaign breaks records in foreign markets

Province’s first joint promotion drive surpasses expectations — bigger and upgraded campaign set for 2025

Newsroom

Famagusta's first-ever coordinated online tourism campaign promoting the province to foreign markets wrapped up with impressive results, surpassing all expectations and laying the groundwork for an even more dynamic follow-up in 2025.

The campaign, which ran from April to October 2024, was the largest collaborative effort to date, with €150,000 raised through partnerships between PASYXE Famagusta, the Famagusta Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company, the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, Hermes Airports, the Ayia Napa Municipality, the Paralimni-Deryneia Municipality, and local hoteliers.

With the slogan “Live Unforgettable Moments”, the campaign targeted key tourism markets including the UK, Germany, France, Poland, Sweden, and Hungary, using digital tools to spotlight Famagusta’s unique beauty.

According to campaign data, more than 14 million ads were launched across digital platforms, reaching over 4.5 million unique users and generating 2 million completed video views — far exceeding initial targets.

Outgoing President of the Famagusta Tourism Board and Ayia Napa Mayor Christos Zannettou described the campaign as a milestone for the region, marking the first time all tourism stakeholders joined forces for such a large-scale initiative.

“It’s a prime example of what we can achieve when we work together to promote our province as one united destination,” Zannettou said, thanking all involved partners.

PASYXE Famagusta President Panayiotis Konstantinou echoed the sentiment, calling for even stronger collaboration in 2025. The next campaign will feature upgraded tools and more targeted strategies to further boost Famagusta’s presence in foreign markets.

With the province’s tourism sector showing renewed momentum, the campaign is a promising step toward establishing Famagusta as a top destination on the global map.
