Larnaca’s waterfront is set for a major transformation, as construction on the ambitious Land of Tomorrow project is set to begin in the coming months, with a total investment exceeding €800 million. The multi-use development, backed by domestic and international investors, will redefine the coastal skyline, according to Project Manager Andreas Lefkaritis, who spoke on SPORT FM 95.0’s DIASPORA NEWS.
A Vision for the Future
The Land of Tomorrow is being developed on the site of Larnaca’s former oil refineries, a prime beachfront location now poised for a complete urban revival. Designed in collaboration with world-renowned architects Foster + Partners and local authorities, the project’s master plan has been in the works for two years, ensuring a balance between modern living, commercial spaces, and green areas.
The first phase of the project will feature four residential buildings, with their lower levels housing cafés, restaurants, and communal areas. Notably, Lefkaritis emphasized that the development will not include high-rise towers, with buildings reaching a maximum of seven floors to maintain Larnaca’s distinctive coastal aesthetic.
Strong International Interest
The luxury residences have already attracted significant interest from both local and international buyers, with investors from Israel, Russia, the Arab world, and the United States leading the way in inquiries and potential purchases.
Green Spaces & Long-Term Vision
A key element of the Land of Tomorrow is its commitment to sustainability and green urban planning. The development will include 20,000 new trees, as well as parks and playgrounds to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors.
Spanning six phases and multiple sub-phases, the project is expected to take 12 to 15 years to reach full completion, making it one of the most significant long-term investments in Larnaca’s urban evolution.
Preparing the Ground for Development
As of now, the final stages of demolition are underway for the Lefkaritis Brothers Ltd. LPG cylinder repair and maintenance factory. The remaining industrial facilities on the site will also be cleared soon to pave the way for the first phase of construction.
With Larnaca’s skyline set to change dramatically, the Land of Tomorrow is more than just a real estate project—it is a statement of the city’s ambitions for growth, sustainability, and international appeal.
