Industries expanded in 2022 as Cyprus saw more jobs, higher production

Manufacturing grows, boosting employment and economic output

Cyprus saw more people employed in factories and related industries in 2022 compared to the year before, with a 3% increase in jobs. The value of goods produced also went up significantly by 21.2%.

The industry report showed that over 42,000 people were working in manufacturing, mining, electricity supply, and water services combined. Manufacturing alone employed 37,100 people.

In terms of money generated, the total production value rose to €6.58 billion in 2022, from €5.43 billion in 2021. Manufacturing contributed the most to this increase, reaching €4.51 billion.

Industries like electricity supply and water services also saw big boosts in their earnings, reflecting a strong year for Cyprus' industrial sector.
