The 5th Lidl Wellness Camp, organized by Lidl Cyprus, took place with great success on the weekend of September 14-15 at the picturesque Rodon Mount Hotel & Resort in Agros. The event welcomed over 250 participants of all ages, focusing on promoting a healthy lifestyle through education, activities, and entertainment.
Held under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, the Cyprus National Commission for UNESCO, and the Cyprus Dietetic and Nutrition Association, the camp was organized in conjunction with World Food Day, which is celebrated annually on October 16. The goal of the event was to equip participants with practical tools and knowledge to incorporate healthier habits into their lives.
Vassilis Lagogiannis, General Director of Lidl Cyprus, opened the camp by emphasizing the company’s commitment to sustainability and health. Andreas Grigoriou, General Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, praised Lidl Cyprus for its sustainability efforts, noting, "Lidl Cyprus has implemented a pioneering sustainability policy, offering certified products that greatly contribute to food safety. The company also sets specific targets for reducing the environmental footprint of its products, continuously raising the bar."
The Cyprus National Commission for UNESCO also expressed its alignment with the camp's goals. "UNESCO’s mission is to bring people together through education, science, and culture. This journey towards peace begins with improving ourselves in our daily lives, and Lidl’s camp mirrors this holistic approach to health," said representative Thekla Papantoniou.
Dr. Eleni Andreou Georgaki, President of the Cyprus Dietetic and Nutrition Association, highlighted the importance of Lidl Cyprus' initiatives, noting, "Lidl Cyprus shows how businesses can positively contribute to public health. The collaboration with scientific bodies ensures that the information shared is based on sound evidence, benefiting society at large."
The camp’s program included workshops and interactive sessions led by 12 experts in health and wellness, covering topics such as mindful eating and sustainability. Children enjoyed a special program designed by the "School of the Forest," offering educational activities centered around nature and environmental awareness.
The 5th Lidl Wellness Camp concluded with great success, leaving a lasting impression on participants and emphasizing the need to adopt healthier, more sustainable habits.
