Investments in Cyprus' health sector are booming, with new hospital units sprouting up across the island. The rise of private and university clinics is evident, especially through the Environmental Impact Assessment Studies (EIAs) currently under review by the Environmental Authority for such projects.

The latest EIA, open for consultation until April 12, outlines an ambitious mixed-use development in the capital. Cyprus-registered Osopil Ltd. is proposing to build and operate a five-story private hospital complex, Hadassah Healthcare Park, within Lakatamia's municipal boundaries, just 440 meters northwest of the Lakatamia ThoI Stadium.

According to the study, the development will feature a five-story private hospital, a five-story university medical facility, and a commercial office building. Additionally, there will be a five-story residential building dedicated to student accommodation.

The construction approach for this project mirrors other similar developments, such as apartment buildings and high-rise structures. The method includes prefabricated components, site works, excavation for foundations and basements, and, to a lesser extent, backfilling.

This development aims to provide health and care services, foster educational growth in medicine, and support the local economy. It is expected to create new jobs and further strengthen Lakatamia’s socio-economic landscape. When fully developed, the project will be accessible through four points connecting to the public road network, contributing to the area’s overall infrastructure.
