One of NIPD Genetics’ foremost priorities is to implement awareness-raising activities to support people with common and rare diseases. In light of Rare Diseases Day, NIPD Genetics gave their donation that was collected as part of the ''Jeans for GENES- Wear that you care'' campaign.
In a meeting that was held at the Multidisciplinary Center of Evaluation and Intervention of the Pancyprian Association of Rare Genetic Diseases ''Unique Smiles'', on Friday 11 March 2022, representatives of NIPD Genetics gave their donation to the Director of the Association, Ms Stalo Kyriakidou. The ‘Unique Smiles’ Multidisciplinary Center of Evaluation and Intervention is an innovative project that was created to provide people with rare genetic diseases with broad access to specialized medical-scientific teams for early diagnosis and high-quality treatments.
In the context of the events for World Rare Disease Day, on 28th of February 2022, and with an overwhelming turnover of its employees, NIPD Genetics participated in the ''Jeans for GENES- Wear that you care'' campaign, and came to their workplace wearing jeans, in an action that was promoted through their own social media, as well as the company’s. The aim of the campaign was to further educate the public about rare genetic diseases. At the same time, in an effort to support the action of the Pancyprian Association of Rare Genetic Diseases ''Unique Smiles'', both the staff and the company made their own donations.
NIPD Genetics, adopting a human-centered approach in its actions and activities, will continue to contribute with initiatives and targeted actions, focusing on the needs of patients and vulnerable groups of the population, with the aim of improving the quality of life and healthcare services.
