Leonid Radvinsky, the billionaire owner of the adult content platform OnlyFans, has died after a long battle with cancer, the company announced Monday. He was 43.
Radvinsky, a private figure who rarely gave interviews, bought a majority stake in OnlyFans in 2018 and helped transform it into a global online platform where creators could earn money directly from subscribers. The site surged in popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic, becoming especially known for adult content, though the company later attempted to broaden its image by attracting mainstream creators.
His death raises questions about the future ownership of the London-based company, which has grown into one of the world’s most profitable user-generated platforms. OnlyFans reported billions in revenue in recent years, with millions of creators and hundreds of millions of users worldwide. Talks had been underway to sell a majority stake in the business, though negotiations were still in early stages.
Born in Odesa, Ukraine, Radvinsky moved to the United States as a child and later lived in Florida. Despite keeping a low public profile, the company said he supported several charitable causes. Ownership of OnlyFans had already been transferred to a trust last year.
