PRESS RELEASE
18 June 2019
Once again dance, music and theatre are combining for this year’s FANEROMEN19 arts festival. Cypriot and foreign artists, solo or ensembles, are coming together in the patio of the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation for a summer packed with unique performances.
Situated at the heart of the old town of Nicosia, the patio has hosted and will continue to host hundreds of events. It is a patio for the hot summer evenings, beneath the starry sky that gives shelter to those seeking something different. Here, we will travel back in time to a place where the town’s residents used to gather to appreciate the arts and escape the drudgery of everyday life.
Merging the old with the new, the traditional with the modern, the local with the foreign, has always been a feature of events hosted by the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation. The “Faneromeni” arts festival will continue to express this duality. Enjoy evenings filled with fun and intense, mixed emotions.
The programme features a musical journey into history, an evening full of urban dance and comedy, nights where technology meets music, where theatre becomes one with having fun, Austrian strings accompany a Cypriot pianist, and an English legend that comes alive on stage. The festival features young as well as seasoned artists, imbuing the old town with vibrancy.
Every Thursday at 9pm, from the 27th June 2019 until late September, the patio of the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation will offer us the chance to enjoy concerts, musical-theatre performances and Cinemas beneath the starry sky of Nicosia.
