Four bullets, no arrests yet, Cyprus’ escalating gun violence keeps authorities on edge.

Newsroom

Police were called into action Tuesday afternoon after shots were fired at a house in the eastern town of Paralimni, highlighting a worrying rise in violent incidents across the island.

According to Andreas Constantiou, press secretary for the Famagusta Police Department, authorities received reports that an automatic firearm had been discharged at a private residence.

Investigators who combed the scene confirmed that four shots were fired. Various items were collected for forensic examination, and the evidence is now being analyzed at the Famagusta Regional Medical Center.

Police have not reported any injuries so far, but the incident adds to a growing sense of unease in Cyprus, where such shootings are increasingly becoming a headline-making routine.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as investigations continue.
