Authorities warn of dangerous cars, motorcycle recalled in Cyprus

See the list of affected cars, motorcycle and spare parts published on EU Safety Gate.

Press Release

The Department of Road Transport is urging recalls of several vehicles and a motorcycle flagged as dangerous in a European Union alert system.

The department said Monday it was notified by the Consumer Protection Service that, during the 34th week of 2025, the EU’s rapid alert system for dangerous non-food products (Safety Gate) listed several unsafe vehicles and spare parts.

Details on the affected products can be found on the Safety Gate website at https://ec.europa.eu/safety-gate-alerts/screen/search
by using the alert number of each product.

The department called on manufacturers, representatives, distributors, importers and sellers who have placed such products on the Cypriot market to notify the agency and take all necessary steps to recall them, as required under the law.

Consumers who own one of the listed cars or motorcycles are advised to contact the manufacturer, representative or distributor for instructions. Those who purchased unsafe spare parts should stop using them, return them to the seller if possible, and inform the retailer.

Authorities said consumers whose complaints are ignored by manufacturers, distributors or sellers can file a written complaint with the Consumer Protection Service at www.consumer.gov.cy.

For more information, consumers may contact the Department of Road Transport or email recalls@rtd.mcw.gov.cy.
