The Oncology Center of the Bank of Cyprus expressed disappointment Tuesday over recent strike actions announced by unions OUYK-SEK and SEVETTYK-PEO, firmly rejecting claims of illegal or irregular employee dismissal.
In a statement, the Center said the termination of the employee was “not an arbitrary act,” but followed a documented internal disciplinary procedure. It emphasized that all actions complied with the Center’s operating regulations and adhered to principles of transparency, objectivity, and sound administration.
While the Oncology Center said it respects institutional and collective expressions, it cautioned against “misleading or one-sided interpretations of facts” in public discourse.
“The sensitivity and responsibility that have always characterized the Center’s management are reflected both in the way it supports its employees and in the manner it responds to every incident that requires critical decisions,” the statement read.
The Center also recognized the longstanding contributions of its staff, calling them “the cornerstone of the Oncology Center’s operation,” and reaffirmed its commitment to a workplace based on justice, meritocracy, and mutual respect.
The statement concluded by noting that additional information would be provided at a later date.
