A bomb exploded in a garage in the Panioti area of Germasogeia late on Tuesday night, November 26, sparking a fire that destroyed multiple vehicles. The blast, which occurred around 10:45 PM, targeted a 21-year-old’s car and his father’s collection of antique vehicles, leaving behind significant damage.
According to police reports, the explosion set fire to the 21-year-old’s vehicle, worth around €30,000, as well as a second vehicle owned by his father, valued at €6,000. The fire also severely damaged a third car, though the extent of the damage remains unclear. Fortunately, members of the fire brigade managed to quickly extinguish the flames, preventing further destruction.
However, the situation took a more alarming turn when it was discovered that the perpetrators had attempted to set a fourth vehicle on fire using Molotov cocktails. The attack, which could have escalated further, appears to have been part of a targeted assault.
Sources close to the investigation suggest that the motive behind the bombing may be linked to financial disputes involving the 21-year-old. Based on witness testimony, the Limassol CID has secured two arrest warrants for suspects believed to be responsible for the attack. The identities of the suspects remain unclear, and police are actively pursuing leads.
The scene remains under police guard as investigators comb through the wreckage for evidence. Authorities have warned that this could be the tip of the iceberg, with more arrests expected as the investigation progresses.
