A British army officer was killed in a road accident on Monday in eastern Cyprus, when his vehicle overturned under circumstances still pending investigation.
According to a statement issued by the Sovereign Base Area of Dhekelia, a British military officer lost his life in a road accident that took place on the Larnaca-Famagusta road.
The incident took place on Monday early morning just before 2am, when the car driven eastbound on the coastal road overturned under circumstances still pending investigation.
According to the statement, which did not identify the victim, the accident was thought to have been a single-vehicle incident in which the officer’s car rolled over near the SBA police station.
SBA police are investigating the road fatality while members of the victim’s family have been notified.
