Two foreign visitors were injured Tuesday afternoon when their buggy-style vehicle plunged into a 29-meter (95-foot) ravine in the Akamas area, police said.

The accident occurred around 1:10 p.m. when the driver lost control of the vehicle under circumstances that remain under investigation, according to Paphos Assistant Police Director of Operations Michalis Nikolaou.

Emergency responders transported both 25-year-old passengers by ambulance to Polis Chrysochous Hospital. They were later transferred to Paphos General Hospital for further treatment.

Authorities said both individuals are in stable condition and not in danger.
