Over the weekend, the Fourth Elementary School of Apostle Andreas in Limassol was the target of a burglary, resulting in the theft of laptops and tablets valued at approximately €25,000.
School staff discovered the break-in on Monday morning and immediately notified local authorities. The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (T.A.E. Limassol) confirmed that the perpetrators had forced open the doors of four classrooms, stealing a total of 52 electronic devices, including laptops and tablets.
Police collected various items from the scene for forensic examination and are currently securing witness statements as part of an ongoing investigation. No information has been released regarding suspects or motives.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. The theft has raised concerns about school security in the region, particularly as electronic devices play an increasingly central role in classroom instruction.
