The lifeless body of a child was pulled from the water off the Greek island of Kos on Wednesday morning, following an incident where a Coast Guard boat rammed a rubber dinghy carrying 34 people on board.
According to media reports, two men aged 26 and 28 were still missing and six others were injured when their dinghy capsized throwing all passengers into the water, according to state-run news agency ANA-MPA.
A three-year-old boy who was also missing was spotted flowing unconscious in the water east of Kos and was believed to be dead.
Α Frontex vessel patrolling EU borders in the area was said to have rescued 31 people, while Greek coast guard boats, a helicopter and a privately-owned boat joined the search and rescue effort.
People who were pulled to safety were later transported to a local hospital while no details were made available about their condition.
