Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides, accompanied by his spouse Philippa Karsera Christodoulides and members of the Cypriot delegation, had a meeting with Pope Francis at the Holly See. He will be meeting with ENI officials in the company's offices in Rome.
Initially, President Christodoulides and Pope Francis had a private meeting, followed by a meeting with all the members of the Cypriot delegation, a presidency press release said.
Pope Francis gave the President a medal depicting Saint Peter's Basilica while President Christodoulides gifted Pope Francis a silver copy of an olive tree which is a symbol of peace.
The President and the Cypriot delegation also had a meeting with Holy See Prime Minister, Cardinal Parolin.
President Christodoulides will then have a meeting with ENI officials, at the company's offices in Rome, the press release concludes.
