Two men accused in connection with the murder of Dimitris Andronikos, also known as "Dimitroui," were acquitted after the Nicosia Criminal Court ruled there was insufficient evidence to support the charges.
Iosif Iosif, known as "Sifis," and Hamoud Khalil, known as "Spyros," were cleared of involvement in the April 23, 2024, ambush on the Palechori–Anthoupoli road. The court, in its interim ruling, found no prima facie case against the defendants, concluding that the testimony presented was not enough to establish the alleged offenses.
Four others have already been sentenced to life in prison after admitting their roles in the murder. They include the gunman, the motorcycle driver, the individual who tracked the victim’s movements in the days leading up to the killing, and the alleged coordinator of the attack.
