Cyprus and India stressed the need to strengthen bilateral business cooperation.

The position was conveyed during the presentation on Thursday of the credentials of Cyprus’ new High Commissioner to India, Agis Loizou to the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, at a ceremony at the Presidential Palace in New Delhi.

During the private audience, the Cyprus High Commissioner conveyed to the Indian President the warm greetings of President Nicos Anastasiades and the Government and the people of Cyprus and expressed Cyprus’ gratitude for close and friendly bilateral relations with India, the principled stance of the Government of India on the Cyprus issue and the respect for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Cyprus, an official statement said.

While stressing the excellent level of diplomatic and political bilateral relations, President Kovind and High Commissioner Loizou, emphasized the need to further strengthen and expand bilateral business cooperation in sectors of common interest, such as tourism, energy and investments, in order to advance and develop the already close relations existing between the two countries.
