A 54-year-old woman was arrested in Nicosia on a Russian warrant, as she was undergoing inspection at the Agios Dhometios checkpoint.
The woman drove at the Agios Dometios checkpoint Wednesday night just before 9pm, wanting to cross from north into the south, where police officers of the Republic of Cyprus run a check on her passport.
According to reports, the officers discovered that there was a Russian warrant for her arrest in connection with cases of fraud dating back to 2016.
The woman, who has yet to be named publicly, will appear before the Nicosia District Court where a judge will examine an extradition request to Russia.
The date of issuance of the warrant was not immediately known.
