Cyprus President begins official visit to Poland

President Christodoulides' high-level meetings with Polish leadership and historic tours highlight two-day trip

President Nikos Christodoulides of Cyprus commenced a two-day official visit to Poland on Thursday, where he is set to engage in high-level discussions with Polish leaders.

Accompanied by his spouse, Philippa Karsera Christodoulides, President Christodoulides received an official welcome at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw. He then held a private meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda, followed by extended talks between the delegations of both nations.

During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of sports will be signed by the two countries. The Presidents are expected to make joint statements to the media afterward.

Christodoulides is also scheduled to attend a working lunch with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. In the afternoon, he will meet with Parliament Speaker Szymon Hołownia. The day will conclude with an official dinner hosted by President Duda, attended by the Cypriot presidential couple and delegation members.

On May 24, President Christodoulides will travel to Krakow. The Cypriot delegation will visit Jagiellonian University, where Christodoulides will meet with the university's rector and address the students. The visit includes a tour of the University Museum and the historic city center, including Wawel Castle. The delegation will also attend a working lunch with the Governor of Lesser Poland.

President Christodoulides is accompanied by Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna, Deputy Government Spokesman Yiannis Antoniou, and other officials. The Cypriot delegation is scheduled to return home on Friday evening.
