Newsroom

The total assets of investment funds in Cyprus grew by approximately €293 million, or 4.5%, in March 2024 compared to December 2023, reaching €6.78 billion. This increase was primarily driven by a significant rise in investments in shares and other related securities, which grew by about €260 million to a total of €4.93 billion.

According to data released by the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC), the number of investment funds increased from 316 in December 2023 to 328 in March 2024. Concurrently, their total assets rose from €6.495 billion in December 2023 to €6.788 billion in March 2024.

The CBC data also indicated that the deposits and loans held by these investment funds stood at €782.5 million at the end of March, up from €760.9 million in December 2023. Additionally, the value of securities held by the funds increased to €570.9 million in March 2024, up from €554.6 million in December 2023.

The growth in assets and number of investment funds reflects a robust expansion in the Cypriot investment sector, with a particular emphasis on securities and related investments.
