A troubling new twist has emerged in the deadly building collapse in Germasogeia, days after the wreckage was first searched and cleared.
Authorities are now looking for a 27-year-old tourist from Colombia who has been reported missing, with her last known mobile phone signal placing her in the area where the apartment building collapsed.
The woman, from Barranquilla, had been traveling across Europe and was staying in Limassol. Since the day of the collapse, her family says they have not been able to reach her, a silence that has quickly turned into fear.
Now, they are desperately asking, was she there all along?

Her relatives have contacted both Cypriot authorities and their country’s consulate, pleading for answers and urging a thorough search of the rubble. As of now, efforts are ongoing, but the timing is raising uncomfortable questions.
The building collapse, which already claimed two lives, had prompted search and rescue operations in the immediate aftermath. But the discovery of a possible missing person days later is leaving many wondering whether all checks were carried out as thoroughly as they should have been.
Officials have not yet confirmed whether the missing woman was inside the building at the time of the collapse. However, the mobile signal data has shifted attention back to the site, reigniting search efforts.
