The Kouklia Desalination Plant has been restored and returned to full operation, according to an announcement by the Water Development Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment.

The Desalination Plant, which had been out of service due to a fire on 6 December 2025, “has been fully restored by the contractor and is now operating normally,” says the WDD.

The plant’s gradual return to operation began on Sunday, 21 September 2025, with a daily production of 5,000 m³ of water, while today, Tuesday, the daily production has reached 15,000 m³ per day, which is also the plant’s contractual capacity, the announcement adds.

With the full restoration and operation of the plant, “the smoother water supply of the Paphos district is ensured, enhancing water sufficiency,” concludes the announcement.
