According to authorities, the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) in Larnaca received a report at around 09:40 on 7 March 2026 that a diver was in distress in the waters surrounding the wreck site, one of Cyprus’s most popular diving locations.

Rescue services were immediately deployed. A speedboat from the Port and Marine Police was dispatched to the scene, while an ambulance from the State Health Services Organisation’s ambulance service (OKYpY) was also sent to assist.
