Authorities returned 97 foreign nationals to their home countries on 6 March 2026, as part of ongoing government efforts to address irregular migration.
The operation was carried out by the Police, the Aliens and Immigration Service, and the Deputy Ministry of Migration, which are jointly responsible for managing immigration enforcement and return procedures.
In a statement, police officials said that 309 people have entered Cyprus irregularly since 1 January 2026. During the same period, authorities have arranged the return of 1,648 foreign nationals who were living in the country without legal status. These returns took place through both voluntary departure programmes and compulsory deportation procedures.
Officials emphasized that enforcement operations will continue, with authorities aiming to increase the number of repatriations of third-country nationals who remain in Cyprus without legal residency. The police added that these efforts are being coordinated with other relevant government services responsible for migration management.
