A 30-year-old man was taken into custody late Friday after authorities said they caught him retrieving a drug package hidden in a wooded area of the Famagusta district.
The Cyprus Drug Law Enforcement Unit, known as YKAN, said officers had been watching the site after finding narcotics concealed under thick vegetation.
Investigators said the suspect arrived around 10 p.m. and collected the package before he was confronted by officers. Police reported seizing cannabis, two packets of cocaine, a precision scale, a grinder, a mobile phone and €1,670 in cash.
Altogether, YKAN said the haul included about 108 grams of cannabis and 52 grams of cocaine.
The man was arrested at the scene and remains in custody as the investigation continues.
