EAC continues mass installation of smart meters across Cyprus

Electricity supply may be briefly interrupted for up to 20 minutes during replacements

Newsroom

The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) is continuing its nationwide rollout of smart meters, with installations taking place in all provinces throughout November.

The EAC said meter replacements require a temporary power interruption, which should not exceed 20 minutes. Residents are advised to plan accordingly.

This month, smart meters will be installed in key areas, including

  • Nicosia/Aglantzia: Both sides of Larnaca Avenue, from the University of Cyprus to the Satirical Theatre.
  • Limassol: North of Pentadromos and surrounding streets, including Makarios III, Thessaloniki, Gladstonos, and Evagoras Christoforou.
  • Larnaca: East of Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium, between Spyros Kyprianou Avenue and Grigoris Afxentiou Avenue.
  • Famagusta/Paralimni: Protaras Avenue, Kapparis Avenue, Giorki Papadopoulou Street, and surrounding areas.
  • Paphos: Ellados, Tassos Papadopoulos, Dimokratias, Eleftherios Venizelos, Nikos Nikolaidis Avenues, and Charalambos Mouskou and Evagoras Pallikaridis Streets.

The EAC apologized for any inconvenience caused by the temporary interruptions and stressed that the smart meter upgrades are essential for modernizing the island’s electricity network.
