The investigation into the disturbing case of dog abuse in Paphos is still ongoing, following the discovery of Eddie, a dog found abandoned in a rubbish bin on January 16. Police have released the two suspects— a 30-year-old man and a 61-year-old man—pending the results of scientific tests.
Since the incident, Eddie has made remarkable progress, according to Stronger Together Animal Rescue, the animal welfare group that has been closely involved in his recovery. After spending 16 days in the veterinary clinic for treatment, Eddie was discharged and is now being boarded at the home of an animal lover.

While he’s doing better, Eddie is not out of the woods yet. The group revealed that Eddie will undergo surgery to remove a tumor once he is stable enough for the procedure.
The veterinary clinic that cared for Eddie has been praised for its dedication to his recovery, as well as all those who have contributed financially to support his medical needs.
As the investigation into Eddie’s abuse continues, his journey to recovery remains a symbol of hope and resilience, thanks to the collective effort of the community.
