Local swimmer pronounced dead after being rushed to the Emergency Room at Limassol General

An elderly swimmer died in an apparent drowning incident in Limassol after lifeguards found him unconscious in the water near a local hotel.

According to local reports, a 73-year-old Cypriot male was found unconscious in the water at a Limassol beach east of the Crowne Plaza in the early evening.

The man, who was floating face down in front of a boat ramp, was pulled out of the water by lifeguards who attempted to resuscitate him.

He was then rushed to the Emergency Room at Limassol General Hospital while reports did not clarify his condition.

According to Philenews, the elderly swimmer was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit where he took his last breath, just after 8pm.
