According to local reports, a 61-year-old male was spotted floating unconscious in the water at Akti Olympion Beach around 10am and was immediately brought to shore for first aid.

Lifeguards, who said the man was some 80 metres east of their post, began cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques starting with a defibrillator but the man did not respond.
