A Nicosia senior citizen, aged 88, was killed in an accident in Pera Chorio on Tuesday evening

An elderly woman from Nicosia district succumbed to her injuries after being fatally struck by an oncoming vehicle on Tuesday.
According to media reports, 88-year-old Androniki Christodoulou was on foot on Archbishop Makarios avenue in Pera Chorio, when she was struck by a car driven by a 56-year-old woman around 5:15pm.
Christodoulou was rushed to the Emergency Room at Nicosia General Hospital, where she was admitted for medical treatment. She succumbed to her injuries later in the evening, around 9pm.
The circumstances of the accident are still under investigation, with the local police station at Pera Chorio taking over the case.
